DO SOMETHING AWARD

Do Something has awarded us a $500 seed grant for our Write to Recover Project!!

We received very good news today, we are being awarded a $500 seed grant from Do Something!  Page down or go to www.dosomething.org to learn more about this wonderful organization that awards grants and scholarships to people younger than 25 years old who are doing great things for their communities.

We are very honored to be chosen to receive this grant.  We will be able to use the money for things like advertising for our journal drives, incentives for raffles at larger drives, a professional banner, materials for our money earning craft sales, and more.

This award will give us a lot more options when we are making plans for our journal drives and craft sales.  We are very excited!!

Thank you Do Something!!!

DoSomething.org is a national not-for-profit that helps young people change the world.  It is one of the largest organizations in the US that helps young people rock causes they care about.  A driving force in creating a culture of volunteerism, DoSomething.org activated two million young people in 2011.  By leveraging the web, television, mobile, and pop culture, DoSomething.org inspires, empowers, and celebrates a generation of doers; teenagers who recognize the need to do something, believe in their ability to get it done, and then take action.

"Young people posses the energy, creativity, and motivation to rock the world.  The grants help them do just that!" said Nancy Lublin, CEO and Chief Old Person at DoSomething.org.  Grant winners age 25 and under, are chosen based on overall impact and creativity.
